WELCOME TO HUNTER VALLEY WAY
Hunter Valley Way is one of the newest self drive tours on the eastern seaboard of NSW. Starting at the M1 at Freeman’s Water Hole in Lake Macquarie and finishing at the end of the Hunter Valley in Merriwa on the Golden Highway.
You can escape the stress of hours on the road keeping your eye on highway traffic by taking your time and appreciating the magnificent ever changing scenery of the Hunter Valley. From quaint country towns and villages to beautiful wineries, world class accommodation and rural landscapes fringed by the blue haze of the Broken Back Ranges and Watagan mountains.
You can visit Australia’s largest mainland mural town in Kurri Kurri, wineries of the Hunter Valley, take in bushwalking and bird watching in the National Parks, Aboriginal rock art, picnic and camp sites and visit some heritage listed hotels along the route.
The drive also caters for the caravan and mobile home travelers with commercial parks, RV dump stations and camp sites along the route.
